SPECIFICATIONS

This surplus Chinese/Vietnamese Mosin Nagant Type 53 Stripper Clips Ammo Pouch is a belt pouch designed to hold 20 rounds of 7.62x54r ammunition on stripper clips. Originally intended to be worn on the belt, it served as a reserve for NVA and VC troops when a full AK or SKS chest rig wasn't necessary.

Made by ChiCom, this pouch represents typical NVA issue gear, showcasing variations from long molded leather rectangular to rounded body types. Some feature extended belt loops above the pouch. While some bear markings from ChiCom gear sent to Hanoi, others do not, reflecting its historical production variability.

Similar pouches were crafted by the Soviets, East Germany, and other Warsaw Pact nations. During parades, troops often wore two such pouches on their front belts. This very rare, new old surplus item is in excellent condition, making it a prized collectible from the Vietnam War era.
